Full-on or melodic psytrance (other names: morning trance, club psytrance and Isra-trance) is a style of trance music, a form of psychedelic trance, which first appeared in Israel in the late 1990s, and became popular in the world thanks to musicians: Astrix, Cosma, Sirius Isness, Electric Universe, Hypersonic, etc. According to one version, the name "full-on" comes from the name of the collection of psytrance Various — Full On released in Israel in 1998. The style is characterized by a higher tempo, a more pronounced melody and a characteristic "rumbling" bass line, creating a sense of continuity. In general, the music turns out to be more danceable, but it is for this reason that it is sometimes criticized by old-trancers. Criticism is directed at the fact that this music does not take into account the roots and philosophy of classical Goa trance, making psychedelic trance less underground and more commercial. Also, in compositions of this genre, vocals are sometimes used - both female and male. There is also a subspecies called "pop full-on", characterized by expanded solo parts. In addition, the "chiptune" sound and motifs from old video games are often used. The sound of "pop full-on" is much closer to a typical progressive trance or techno trance than to what is meant by psytrance.
